Baylor Wrestling Update

Baylor kicked off the season at two tournaments this weekend.  Six wrestlers were invited to the Ironman in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.  For over a decade, the Ironman has been unanimously recognized as the toughest in-season high school tournament in the nation.

Gabe Swann and Hunter Sturgill had impressive performances by making the top 12!

Max Norman finished 4th for the highest placement ever by a Baylor wrestler.  Along the way, he knocked off an Okie State commit, an Iowa commit, and a 2x Fargo Champ.

The rest of the team traveled to Greenville, SC to compete in the Southern Slam, a difficult tournament in its own right. State champs from around the SE filled the brackets.  Dylan Reel and Oliver Phillips finished 3rd. Triston Mouton finished 5th.

Football players will be making their way back into the lineup, and we hope to have most of the team competing next weekend in Columbus, Ohio at the Liberty Classic.

In girls' wrestling, sophomore Ryleigh Sturgill continues to raise the bar. This weekend, Ryleigh finished second at the Woman of Ironman tournament!
