The Baylor Lady Red Raiders faced off against Silverdale tonight in Round Two of their matchup this season. The last time these two teams met on November 20th—only Baylor's second game of the season—the Lady Red Raiders fell to the Seahawks 53-31. But tonight's game was a much different story.
Baylor came out strong, leading 16-11 at the end of the first quarter. Silverdale answered with an 11-0 run to start the second quarter, but Baylor battled back, heading into halftime trailing just 27-28. The second half was a back-and-forth fight, with the score 48-44 Silverdale at the end of the third. In a hard-fought fourth quarter, the Seahawks narrowly held on to win 57-53.
Baylor was led by freshman Xhara Willis with 20 points, followed by Paige Thompson with 13, Rory Oleksik with 10, and Amiya Leach with 7.
Next up, the Lady Red Raiders travel to Knox Webb this Tuesday. Tipoff is set for 5:30 PM EST. Let's keep the momentum going, Baylor!
