In a thrilling back-and-forth battle, Chattanooga Christian stormed back in the fourth quarter to edge Baylor 63-59 on Tuesday night.
Baylor controlled much of the first half, taking their first lead at 6:02 in the second quarter (19-17) and heading into the break with a 28-23 advantage. By the end of the third quarter, Baylor maintained control with a 49-43 lead, but CCS had one final push left.
With just over four minutes remaining, CCS surged ahead 55-50, capping off a strong comeback. The final minute was a tense battle, with the score tied 59-59 with just 20.4 seconds left. CCS took the lead with under 10 seconds to go, and after a Baylor turnover with 6.7 seconds left, CCS sealed the win at the free-throw line, knocking down both shots with 4.9 seconds left to secure the victory.
