One of the most highly sought-after football recruits in the nation is staying in the Volunteer State.

Baylor School standout running back David Gabriel Georges announced Wednesday that he has committed to the University of Tennessee, choosing the Volunteers over fellow finalists Ohio State and Ole Miss. The five-star prospect made his announcement at Baylor School, ending one of the most closely followed recruiting battles in the country. 

Gabriel Georges has quickly established himself as one of the premier players in high school football. Entering his senior season, he is regarded as one of the nation's top overall prospects and the No. 2 running back in the Class of 2027 by multiple recruiting services. 

His junior season was nothing short of remarkable. Gabriel Georges rushed for 1,756 yards and 27 touchdowns while leading Baylor to an undefeated 12-0 season and the TSSAA Division II-AAA State Championship. Along the way, he earned numerous honors, including Tennessee Mr. Football, MaxPreps National Player of the Year, Tennessee Player of the Year by Rivals, and multiple All-State selections. 

Since arriving at Baylor, Gabriel Georges has become one of the most dynamic players in school history. His combination of speed, power, and vision has made him a game-changing playmaker and a centerpiece of the Red Raiders' success.

Now, before beginning his collegiate career in Knoxville, Gabriel Georges will look to add one more memorable chapter to his Baylor career. He returns this fall to help lead the defending Division II-AAA State Champions as the Red Raiders pursue another championship season.
