Playing Career
Coach Kinney played for Roane State Community College before transferring to Tennessee Tech. He then played for the Grand Rapids Travelers and finished with a bronze medal in the Pacific Ocean Games in Cali,Columbia for Team USA in 1995. 

Coaching Career
Coach Kinney has had 28 years of coaching experience. He began by returning to his high school, Rhea County, before heading to Skyline High in Longmont, CO. He then went to North Gwinnett High School in Suwanee, GA before coming to Baylor. He has been here for 8 years with this being his 6th year as Co-Head Coach. Coach Kinney won over 100 games in his first 4 full seasons at Baylor with 3 state championships. He had 2 players drafted in the 2021 MLB draft, 1st rounder Cooper Kinney, and 16th round, Danny Corona. 

Personal
Coach Kinney is a math teacher and a dorm parent in Probasco Hall. He is married to Lori Kinney, and they have three children; Cooper, Elli, and Mia.
