The Baylor Red Raiders comeback falls short to Lakeway Christian 4-3.
A chilly night for a softball game, it took a little while to get the bats going for the Red Raiders. Even though Baylor collected six hits to Lakeway's five, the ladies still fell short in the end to a good Lakeway team from Knoxville.
Baylor trailed by four in the fifth inning before cutting into the lead. Chloe Cunningham and Rory Oleksik reached base and scored on Addi Yates' double. Holly Merritt followed with a double up the middle to send Yates home.
Avery Shamblin took the loss. She pitched six innings, gave up four runs on five hits, struck out 12, and walked five. Kaylee Snyder came in to relieve Shamblin in the 7th inning. Addi Yates lead the team with two RBI's going 1-for-3 on the day while Chloe Cunningham had 2 hits.
Baylor looks to rebound on Tuesday as they take on Knox Catholic at home. The first pitch is scheduled for 5:00.
