Baylor is heading to the championship game after winning 11-1 over St Benedict. The game took two days to complete. Baylor was winning 4-0 in the 4th inning, when rain postponed the game until Thursday morning. Avery Shamblin was pitching, striking out 8 of 11 hitters. Addi Yates lead off the game with a single and then advanced to second on a stolen base. Rory Oleksik had a bunt single, followed by Riley Oleksik's sac fly for the early 1-0 lead. In the of the top of the 2nd, Chloe Cunningham started the inning off with a double, followed by a bunt hit from Amiya Leach, before Xahara Willis crushed a 3 run home-run.
When the game resumed Thursday morning, Kaylee Snyder was equally impressive on the mound. She faced 13 hitters and and struck out 5. Offensively, Riley Oleksik got things rolling again with a solo home-run. Snyder followed with a double, then Cunningham and Syd Sharpe each had an RBI singles. Cunningham and Amiya Leach had singles in the 7th, Willis a sac fly RBI, and Holly Merritt cleared the bases with a double to seal the deal.
Baylor looks to add another championship trying to make it 9 in a row!
