Baylor 46, Ambassador Christian 0: The Red Raiders rested junior running back David Gabriel-Georges after his 25-carry, 280-yard, three-touchdown performance against McCallie, but the aerial onslaught of senior quarterback Briggs Cherry was more than enough to overwhelm the Lions of Huntersville, North Carolina.
Cherry, a Louisville commitment, completed 18 of 24 passes for 332 yards and four touchdowns in three quarters of work as Baylor improved to 7-0. He connected with Kaiden Dewey for an 80-yard touchdown on the game's first play from scrimmage and added scoring tosses of 24 and 13 yards to Jamyan Theodore as the Red Raiders led 20-0 within the first eight minutes.
Judah Smith caught Cherry's fourth touchdown of the night, a 51-yarder with 1:11 before halftime that made it 27-0. Baylor then added a safety with 39 seconds before the break when an Ambassador Christian punt snap went through the back of the end zone for a 29-0 advantage, and the Red Raiders got the running clock going midway through the third quarter.
Ella Metzner accounted for the only points in the fourth quarter with her 32-yard field goal.
Division II-AAA's top-ranked Red Raiders will remain at Heywood Stadium next Friday when they host Ensworth in a matchup of teams that are 3-0 in East Region play.
