Georges leads Red Raiders to 27-7 victory over Ensworth as Baylor improves to 9-0
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Another Friday night, another victory, and another piece of Baylor School football history.
The Red Raiders captured their third consecutive TSSAA Division II-AAA East Region championship Friday night with a 27-7 road victory over Ensworth, improving to 9-0 on the season.
The championship marks just the third outright East Region title in Baylor football history, with all three coming in consecutive seasons under head coach Erik Kimrey.
Baylor established control early, taking a 14-0 lead into halftime before closing out its ninth consecutive victory.
Senior running back and University of Tennessee commitment David Gabriel Georges led the Baylor offensive attack, rushing for 139 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries. Georges also hauled in a 10-yard touchdown reception, finishing the night with 149 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns.
Senior quarterback Keegan Croucher threw two touchdown passes, including the 10-yard scoring strike to Georges, as the Red Raiders continued to find ways to move the football.
Baylor finished with 288 yards of total offense, including 175 rushing yards and 113 through the air, while recording 18 first downs.
But it was the Red Raiders' defensive performance that helped define the night.
Baylor limited Ensworth to just one conversion in nine third-down opportunities while forcing a turnover and keeping the Tigers out of the end zone for much of the evening.
Ensworth finished with 271 total yards, including 168 rushing and 103 passing, but managed just seven points against a Baylor defense that continued to rise to the occasion.
The Red Raiders also protected the football, finishing the game without a turnover.
Friday's victory represents another significant milestone for Kimrey and the Baylor football program.
After claiming outright East Region championships in 2024 and 2025, Baylor has now accomplished the feat three consecutive seasons, something never before achieved in school history.
Despite the historic accomplishment, Baylor still has unfinished business.
The Red Raiders will close out the regular season Friday, October 30, at Knoxville Catholic before turning their attention to the TSSAA Division II-AAA playoffs.
For now, Baylor can celebrate another championship and another chapter in the program's history.
Three straight East Region championships. Nine wins. No losses. And more football still to play.
