Baylor Alumni Honored at Greater Chattanooga Sports Hall of Fame Induction
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Baylor School's rich athletic tradition was on full display Monday night at the 58th Greater Chattanooga Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony, as three former Red Raiders were recognized among the area's finest athletes. Alan Carmichael ('82), Amy Robertson Whitaker ('94), and Stephan Jaeger ('08) took their places among Chattanooga's sports legends, further cementing Baylor's legacy of excellence.
Alan Carmichael (Class of 1982) – Baseball
A standout catcher known for his powerful throwing arm, Alan Carmichael made an immediate impact in baseball, earning induction into Baylor's Sports Hall of Fame in 2013. His success at Baylor led him to professional baseball, where he was drafted by the New York Mets as a 17-year-old in 1982. Carmichael played in the Mets organization until 1987, showcasing the skills he developed during his time at Baylor.
Amy Robertson Whitaker (Class of 1994) – Softball
One of the most dominant pitchers in Chattanooga's high school softball history, Amy Robertson Whitaker left an unforgettable mark on Baylor's program. She was a two-time TSSAA state champion MVP (1993, 1994) and collected multiple all-district and all-region honors during her time as a Red Raider.
Following her standout high school career, Whitaker played collegiate softball at Georgia Tech before transferring to UTC. Her excellence on the field earned her a spot in Baylor's Sports Hall of Fame in 2001.
Stephan Jaeger (Class of 2008) – Golf
Already a member of Baylor's Sports Hall of Fame (Class of 2018), Stephan Jaeger has continued to elevate his career on the world stage. Last year, he captured his first PGA Tour victory at the Texas Children's Houston Open and later represented Germany in the Paris Olympics, helping his country secure a silver medal.
During his college career at UTC, Jaeger was a three-time Southern Conference Player of the Year and earned All-American honors in 2012 before turning pro. His journey from Baylor's golf courses to the PGA Tour is a testament to his dedication and skill.

The recognition of Carmichael, Whitaker, and Jaeger at Monday's ceremony reaffirms Baylor School's reputation as a powerhouse in Chattanooga sports. From the baseball diamond to the softball field to the golf course, their achievements serve as inspiration for future generations of Baylor athletes.
