Great opening day win for Baylor Softball!
Baylor jumped out to an early 6-0 lead, but Cleveland battled back in the 4th, cutting the deficit to 6-4. Baylor responded immediately with back-to-back home runs from Xahara Willis and Adison Wallington, extending the lead. Chloe Cunningham was 3 for 3, Amiya Leach added a double with 3 RBIs, Olivia Elkhill was 2 for 3, Willis ended 3-3 with 2 RBIs, and Wallington was 2 for 3.
Pitcher Brenna Bagley went the distance in a 5-inning game (due to darkness), and helped her own cause, driving in run number nine to seal the 9-4 victory.
The team is back in action tomorrow at Whitwell, with first pitch set for 5:30 PM EST.
Great way to start the season!
