Strong Showing for Baylor Track & Field at MidSouth Invitational!
Despite not fielding a full lineup, Baylor Track & Field turned in an impressive performance at Saturday's MidSouth Invitational at GPS.
Boys Highlights:
Senior Gilbert Stein earned Most Valuable Male Athlete honors, scoring 32.5 points. He won the triple jump, 110 hurdles, and 300 hurdles—all with personal records—and anchored the winning 4x400 relay alongside Gage Whited, Mercer Murphy, and AJ Bass-Mays.
Whited also posted major PRs in the 100 and 200.
Distance standouts included PRs in the 800 (Murphy, Cash Carlson) and 1600 (Marshall McConville, Lake Montgomery).
Girls Highlights:
The girls were led by strong senior efforts:
- Maddie Winchester: 1st in discus, 3rd in shot put
- Franny Brooksbank: 1st in triple jump
- Marly Ford: 1st in pole vault
- The 4x400 relay team of Maelynn Adams-Cook, Addy Cotter, Laney Fowler, and Addy Morgan earned a commanding win
Addy Morgan and Asha Cohen also notched breakthrough PRs in the 400.
