Baylor Softball Powers Past Whitwell, 9–2

Whitwell jumped out to an early 2–1 lead after the first inning, but Baylor responded with a 3-run bottom of the second, sparked by Olivia Elkhill's 2-run homer and a misplayed bunt to take a 4–2 lead.

The Red Raiders added two more in the fourth, then Xahara Willis delivered the knockout punch with a 2-run homer in the sixth to extend the lead to 8–2. Ellison Dematteo drove in the final run to cap off the scoring.

After the opening inning, Baylor's defense shut it down—allowing just one baserunner the rest of the game. Brenna Bagley was dominant in the circle, going the distance with 12 strikeouts and just 3 hits allowed.
