Baylor Completes Perfect Regular Season with 21-7 Victory Over Knoxville Catholic

Georges Rushes for 247 Yards and Three Touchdowns as Red Raiders Finish 10-0 for Third Consecutive Season

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. | Another regular season, another perfect finish for the Baylor Red Raiders.

Behind a dominant performance from senior running back David Gabriel Georges and another strong defensive effort, Baylor defeated Knoxville Catholic 21-7 Friday night at Covenant Health Park, home of the Knoxville Smokies, to complete an undefeated 10-0 regular season.

The victory marked Baylor's third consecutive unbeaten regular season and extended the Red Raiders' winning streak to 22 games dating back to the beginning of the 2025 season.

Baylor, ranked No. 9 nationally by MaxPreps, also finished a perfect 5-0 in TSSAA Division II-AAA East Region play, having already secured the program's third East Region championship in school history.

Georges Delivers a Memorable Performance

University of Tennessee commitment David Gabriel Georges put together one of the most impressive performances of his senior season, rushing for 247 yards and all three Baylor touchdowns on just 12 carries.

That is an incredible average of 20.6 yards per carry.

Playing in Knoxville in front of Tennessee fans, Georges gave the crowd a preview of what could be coming to Rocky Top.

After a scoreless opening quarter, Georges broke through on the first play of the second quarter, turning a third-and-15 into a 30-yard touchdown run to give Baylor a 7-0 advantage.

The Red Raiders carried that lead into halftime despite moving the football effectively throughout the opening two quarters.

Georges had 71 rushing yards on six carries at the break, but his biggest moments were still ahead.

On the third play of the second half, Georges exploded for a 67-yard touchdown run, extending Baylor's lead to 14-0.

He added another 67-yard scoring run with 11:11 remaining in the fourth quarter to push the advantage to 21-0.

Georges also had an 88-yard touchdown run called back because of a holding penalty in the third quarter.

Following the game, Georges was quick to credit the players blocking in front of him.

"My O-line made it easy," Georges said. "I had a lot of big gaps."

Head coach Erik Kimrey praised the senior's performance and the significance of playing in front of Tennessee fans.

"This was special, and I think that David felt that there were a lot of Vols fans pulling for him," Kimrey said. "I think it meant something to him, and he wanted to give them a little taste of what's to come."

Red Raiders Find Ways to Win

While Georges provided the offensive fireworks, Baylor's success was another complete team effort.

Senior quarterback Keegan Croucher, an Ole Miss commitment, completed 15 of 23 passes for 129 yards, helping the Red Raiders sustain drives and control possession.

Baylor was playing without several key contributors, including wide receivers Antwaun "Cornbread" Adams and Beckham Stokes, backup running back Jean-Pierre Eto'o, and cornerback Xavier Bowman.

Despite those absences, the Red Raiders continued to execute and found ways to move the football.

Defensively, Baylor kept Knoxville Catholic off the scoreboard through the first three quarters and protected its lead throughout the contest.

The Fighting Irish moved into Baylor territory on all three first-half possessions, but the Red Raiders delivered when needed, including a fourth-down stop at their own 24-yard line.

Knoxville Catholic managed a late touchdown, but Baylor's advantage was never seriously threatened in the closing minutes.

Three Straight Perfect Regular Seasons

Friday's victory represented another significant milestone for a Baylor program that has established itself among the state's elite.

Three consecutive 10-0 regular seasons, a 22-game winning streak, and another East Region championship highlight the consistency and success of the Red Raiders under Kimrey.

But while the regular season is complete, Baylor's ultimate goals remain ahead.

The Red Raiders will enjoy a much-needed week off before returning to action on Friday, November 13, when they host a Division II-AAA state quarterfinal playoff game.

With home-field advantage and momentum from an undefeated regular season, Baylor now turns its attention to the postseason and the opportunity to continue its championship pursuit.

The regular season was perfect. Now the Red Raiders are ready for November.
