Baylor pulled away late to secure a 14-3 win in five innings over Coffee County, though the game was much tighter than the final score indicates.
The Lady Raiders got on the board in the bottom of the first inning when Xahara Willis reached on an error with two outs. Adison Wallington followed by ripping a single up the middle to give Baylor an early 1-0 lead.
Baylor added to its lead in the third inning as Willis delivered a big swing, blasting a three-run line drive over the left field fence to extend the advantage to 4-0.
Coffee County responded in the top of the fourth, plating two runs to cut the deficit to 4-2 and shift some momentum. Baylor answered right back in the bottom half of the inning when Chloe Cunningham worked a leadoff walk and later came around to score on a wild pitch, making it 5-2.
Coffee County refused to go away, adding another run to make it 5-3, but that's when Baylor broke things open.
In the bottom of the fifth, the Lady Raiders erupted for nine runs to end the game early. Makenzie Dinsmore delivered a key RBI single during the rally, and Abby Wright added a clutch two-run double to cap off the explosive inning.
Wallington earned the win in the circle, allowing just five hits while striking out five.
Baylor will be back in action Thursday at home against Gibbs, with first pitch set for 5:00.
