Baylor delivered an impressive statement win, defeating defending 4A state champion Gibbs 13-2 in another dominant performance. For the second straight night, Abby Wright provided the finishing touch, blasting a three-run homer to end the game early.
The Raiders broke things open in the bottom of the third inning, plating six runs highlighted by a three-run home run from Rylee Jasper. Baylor kept the pressure on in the fourth, adding another run with back-to-back RBI doubles from Xahara Willis and Adison Wallington.
At the top of the lineup, Wrigley Burge set the tone by reaching base four times, while Spencer Higgins went 3-for-4 with a double. Willis added to her strong night, finishing 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs.
In the circle, Jasper was in control all game, tossing six innings while allowing just six hits to earn the win.
Baylor will be back in action next Tuesday as they travel to Soddy Daisy.
