A Baylor Year: Baylor Athletics Celebrates Historic 2025-26 Championship Season
Some years are measured by wins and losses.
Others are measured by championships.
The 2025-26 athletic year at Baylor will be remembered for both.
From the opening days of the fall season through the final races of spring, Baylor teams consistently found themselves competing for championships and bringing trophies back to campus. Across three seasons, Red Raider athletes showcased talent, determination, resilience, and a commitment to excellence that has long defined Baylor Athletics.
The result was a year that will long be remembered throughout the Baylor community.
Fall: Setting the Tone
The championship run began on the golf course.
Baylor Girls Golf reclaimed its place atop Tennessee by capturing the program's 21st State Championship. One of the most successful programs in state history once again added to its remarkable legacy and set the tone for what would become a memorable year.
A few weeks later, Baylor Girls Soccer continued its dominance of Division II-AA soccer, winning a third consecutive state championship and the program's 12th overall title. Through talent, teamwork, and consistency, the Red Raiders once again proved why they remain among the nation's premier programs.
Then came football.
Behind an undefeated season, Baylor Football captured the Division II-AAA State Championship, completing one of the most historic seasons in program history. The Red Raiders finished a perfect campaign and delivered another championship moment for the Baylor community while adding to a growing list of accomplishments for one of the school's flagship programs.
By the time the fall semester ended, Baylor had already claimed three state championships.
And the year was far from over.
Winter: Continuing the Momentum
As winter arrived, Baylor's championship tradition continued.
The wrestling program once again demonstrated why it remains one of Tennessee's elite programs. The Red Raiders captured the Division II-AA State Duals Championship, defeating rival McCallie and continuing a tradition built through decades of excellence on the mat.
A week later, Baylor Swim & Dive delivered one of the most impressive performances in school history.
Competing at the TISCA State Championships, the Red Raiders swept the men's and women's state championships while also securing the combined team title. School records fell. State records fell. Historic performances filled the pool deck.
The achievement marked the program's first "Triple Crown" under the current coaching staff and further strengthened Baylor's reputation as one of the premier swimming programs in the state and region.
As winter championships concluded, Baylor's trophy case continued to fill.
Spring: Finishing Strong
When spring arrived, the pursuit of championships continued.
Baylor Tennis once again showcased its depth and consistency on a national stage. The Baylor Girls Tennis team traveled to Orlando, Florida, and captured the
2026 National High School Tennis Championship, earning one of the most significant accomplishments of the year against elite competition from across the country.
The Red Raiders were not finished.
Later in the spring, Baylor Tennis added two more championships as both the boys and girls teams captured Tennessee state titles. Across singles and doubles competition, the Red Raiders displayed the balance, determination, and consistency that have become hallmarks of the program.
The success added three championships to an already impressive year and highlighted the strength of Baylor athletics across multiple sports and seasons.
On the Tennessee River, Baylor Rowing continued its championship tradition.
The Baylor Girls Rowing team captured the Tennessee State Championship, adding another title to the program's storied history. Meanwhile, the Baylor Boys Rowing team reached the national stage and claimed the Scholastic Rowing Association of
America National Championship, showcasing the strength and depth of Baylor rowing against the nation's best competition.
Through countless early mornings, demanding training sessions, and fierce competition, Baylor rowers once again demonstrated the commitment and excellence that have become synonymous with the program.
The final championship trophies of the year had been earned.
More Than Trophies
- Championships are easy to count.
- The work required to earn them is much harder to measure.
- Every banner hanging in a gymnasium. Every trophy displayed in a case. Every championship photo preserved in a hallway represents thousands of unseen moments.
- Early morning workouts.
- Long practices.
- Film sessions.
- Weight room training.
- Bus rides.
- Sacrifices made by athletes, coaches, and families.
- The championships won during the 2025-26 school year were built long before the final whistle, final race, final point, or final stroke.
- They were built through commitment.
- They were built through perseverance.
- They were built through a shared belief that excellence is not an event but a daily standard.
One Community, One Mission
While each championship team followed its own path, there was a common thread connecting them all.
- A community that showed up.
- Students who packed the stands.
- Parents who traveled countless miles.
- Coaches who invested in young people.
- Faculty and staff who supported student-athletes every step of the way.
- And teammates who pushed one another to be better every day.
Whether under Friday night lights, on a championship golf course, on the soccer pitch, wrestling mat, tennis court, swimming pool, or Tennessee River, Baylor athletes competed with pride and represented something larger than themselves.
A Baylor Year
Twelve championship titles.
Two national championships.
Three seasons.
Countless memories.
The 2025-26 athletic year reminded us that excellence can take many forms, but it is always rooted in preparation, teamwork, and commitment.
As trophies find their place in display cases and banners join those that already hang across campus, the memories remain.
- The celebrations.
- The rivalries.
- The victories.
- The moments shared by teammates, coaches, families, and fans.
- The moments that made this year special.
- For those who wore the uniform, coached the teams, supported from the stands, or proudly cheered from afar, this was a year worth remembering.
- A year of champions.
- A year of tradition.
- A year of gratitude.
A Baylor Year.
