Playing Career
Played at University of Tennessee at Chattanooga from 1997-2001, winning two Southern Conference championships—and third as a member of the UTC softball team. Sarah helped lead the Lady Mocs to two NCAA tournament appearances and was named SoCon Player of the Week in 1998.


Coaching Career
 As the head coach at the Baylor School in Chattanooga since 2009—where she also serves as Associate Athletic Director—her teams have won nearly 80% of their matches in her 14 years of service. She led the Red Raiders to the Division IIAA state championship in 2017, 2014, and was named the Chattanooga Times-Free Press Best of Preps Coach of the Year in 2014, 201, and 2019. Sarah also captured state runner-up finishes in 2011, 2013, 2016, 2018, 2020 and 2022 and has won eight region championships.  

Personal
Coach Lail is married to Robbie Lail, and they have two children; Nina and Quinn.
