For the first time this season, the Baylor School Red Raiders hit the road, traveling to Nashville to take on Lipscomb Academy. Despite being away from home, Baylor continued their winning ways, cruising to a decisive 37-7 victory.
Both sides of the ball shined in the win. The Red Raiders' offense racked up an impressive 404 total yards, with quarterback Briggs Cherry leading the way. Cherry completed 15 of 23 passes for 230 yards and two touchdowns. Wide receiver Cam Sparks was his favorite target, pulling in five receptions for 137 yards, including a touchdown. Joakim Dodson set the tone early, helping Baylor score on just its second play of the game. Dodson finished with six catches for 59 yards.
The ground game was equally effective, tallying 174 yards on 22 rushes. David Gabriel-Georges led the charge with 12 carries for 128 yards and a touchdown, while Shekai Mills-Knight added 42 yards and a score, rounding out Baylor's balanced offensive attack.
Defensively, Baylor was dominant, holding Lipscomb Academy to just 190 total yards and one touchdown. The Red Raiders' defense also forced a turnover, helping to seal the commanding win.
Next up, Baylor returns home to face Christian Brothers, with kickoff set for 7:30 PM at Heywood Stadium.
