The Red Raiders left no doubt on Friday night, storming into Nashville and leaving with a commanding 48–7 region win over Christ Presbyterian Academy (CPA) to remain unbeaten on the season.
From the opening kick, Baylor set the tone with a fast, balanced attack. Quarterback Briggs Cherry was nearly flawless, completing 14 of 15 passes for 245 yards and two touchdowns in just three quarters of action. His ability to spread the ball around and keep the defense guessing created opportunities all over the field.
The star of the night, however, was David Gabriel-Georges, who put on a show with three rushing touchdowns. His highlight moment came when he hurdled a defender in stride, drawing gasps from the crowd and sparking his teammates on the sideline. Whether slicing through the defense with his speed or finishing runs with power, Gabriel-Georges proved to be a game-breaker.
Baylor's scoring didn't stop there. Jamyan Theodore continued his reputation as a two-way playmaker, hauling in a touchdown on offense while also shutting down CPA's passing game on defense. Kolby Barrett delivered a defensive gem of his own, stepping in front of a pass and racing it back for a pick-six that all but sealed the outcome before halftime. And in the third quarter, Kaiden Dewey added another exclamation point with a burst of speed to the end zone, further stretching the lead.
CPA managed just one score on a tough catch by Owen Cabell, but Baylor's defense stiffened the rest of the way, keeping the Lions frustrated and off balance. By halftime, the Red Raiders held a 35–7 lead, and the second half was about maintaining momentum and finishing strong.
In all, Baylor showcased every phase of its roster — explosive offense, opportunistic defense, and disciplined execution. With contributions from both seasoned veterans and emerging stars, this win was as much about team depth as it was about individual brilliance.
Now sitting undefeated with their first region victory secured, the Red Raiders are rolling into the heart of the season with confidence. Next up: another trip to Nashville to take on MBA in what promises to be a marquee matchup.
