CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — One of the most remarkable championship runs in Baylor girls soccer history came to an end Wednesday morning as the Red Raiders fell 1-0 to Harpeth Hall in the TSSAA Division II-AA State Semifinals at Boyd Buchanan School.
The loss brought an end to Baylor's pursuit of a fourth consecutive state championship, closing a three-year reign atop Tennessee high school girls soccer.
Baylor finished the 2026 season with a 13-4-2 record, another Final Four appearance, and a season filled with memorable performances, hard-fought victories, and a determination to continue the program's championship tradition.
The Red Raiders entered the state tournament playing some of their best soccer of the season. After a convincing 7-0 victory over Ensworth in the opening round, Baylor traveled to Memphis and delivered an impressive 4-0 quarterfinal victory over Briarcrest, earning another trip to the state semifinals.
Wednesday's semifinal proved to be a difficult battle, with one goal ultimately separating the two teams and bringing Baylor's season to a close.
While the opportunity to compete for another state championship slipped away, the accomplishments of this team extend well beyond Wednesday's final score.
For Baylor's seniors, this season marks the end of a special chapter. They helped carry a championship standard, represented their school with pride, and contributed to a program that has established itself among the state's elite.
Three consecutive state championships are an extraordinary accomplishment, and this year's team continued that legacy by reaching the Final Four once again.
Although the season ended one victory short of another championship appearance, the commitment, leadership, and effort displayed by these young women throughout the year deserve recognition.
The streak may have ended, but the standard remains.
Congratulations to Coach Blair, the coaching staff, and every member of the Baylor girls soccer program on another outstanding season.
And to the seniors, thank you for the memories, the championships, and the legacy you leave behind.
Once a Raider, always a Raider.
