An outstanding weekend for the Red Raiders as Baylor claimed state runner-up honors while crowning six individual state champions for the fifth time in program history.
State Champions
• Dylan Reel (190) – 16-0 tech fall (Senior)
• Titus Norman (165) – Pin (2:46) (Senior)
• Ollie Phillips (157) – 2-1 decision (Second State Title, Senior)
• George Emendorfer (144) – 4-1 decision (Senior)
• Gabe Swann (120) – 19-2 tech fall (Senior)
• Malachi Puckett (138) – 5-3 decision (Junior)
Reel did not allow a single point in three matches at MBA, while Norman pinned his way to victory in all three wins. Emendorfer and Puckett earned their first state titles, and Phillips added his second, while Swann captured his fourth career championship, including his last two with Baylor after winning two at Central Carroll (GA).
Baylor won the state duals just two weeks ago with a 38-30 win over McCallie.
While the Red Raiders had six individual state champions for the fifth time in program history, the Blue Tornado had greater strength in numbers.
Proud of this group and their relentless work ethic all season long.
