Championship expectations are nothing new for Baylor Girls Soccer.

The defending three time state champions return to the pitch this fall with the same goal that has driven the program for years: compete for another state title.

The challenge will look different this season. After graduating 12 seniors from last year's championship team, the Lady Red Raiders return just three starters. There won't be any sympathy from opponents, and no one is handing Baylor anything.

Now entering his 19th season as head coach at Baylor, Curtis Blair believes this team has what it takes to be playing meaningful matches at the end of the season. It starts with believing in one another, trusting the process, and committing to the little things every day. 

This summer also brought a unique source of inspiration. With the reigning World Cup champions from Spain training on Baylor's fields, the Lady Red Raiders got an up close look at what excellence, preparation, and championship standards look like. It's the kind of experience that can fuel dreams of creating another championship run of their own.

Leadership will come from new voices, new faces will step into bigger roles, and this week's team camp at Covenant College is another important step in building chemistry before the season begins.

Baylor opens the 2026 season on August 17 against Signal Mountain.

The countdown is on. We can't wait to see the Lady Red Raiders back on the pitch.
