Baylor School girls soccer remained unbeaten Thursday night, scoring three times in the second half to earn a 3-0 region victory over Chattanooga Christian School on the road.

The Red Raiders and Chargers battled through a scoreless opening 40 minutes, with Baylor defending well but struggling to find a breakthrough against a disciplined CCS side.

That changed quickly in the second half.

In the 58th minute, Reese Rowlett broke the scoreless tie, finishing off a pass from Adri Carey to give Baylor a 1-0 advantage.

Just two minutes later, Helena Lima doubled the lead, scoring off a free kick in the 60th minute to put the Red Raiders firmly in control.

Baylor added its third goal in the 75th minute when Ayanna Hamler found the back of the net off an assist from Rowlett, completing the 3-0 victory.

"These region matches are never easy games, and Coach Earl had a great game plan and made it difficult for us at the beginning," Baylor head coach Curtis Blair said. "I thought we defended very well and did a great job limiting their chances, but we had a hard time breaking them down. I was proud that we kept our composure and kept battling."

Blair recognized Mackenzie Douglas in goal along with Harley Elam, Brylee Faulkner, Macey Conrad, Maddie Hawk and Charlotte Hoss for their performances in the victory.

The win improves Baylor to 7-0-1 overall and 2-0 in region play.

The Red Raiders now head to Memphis for a pair of challenging weekend matches against Houston and Collierville.

"We are excited to go and play two great teams and continue to push ourselves as a team," Blair said.
