Baylor Golf turned a weather-delayed rivalry match into a comeback victory Thursday afternoon, defeating McCallie 5-3 at Black Creek.
The match originally began Tuesday, but lightning and inclement weather forced play to be suspended after just four holes. The two teams returned to Black Creek on Thursday to pick up where they left off, and the Red Raiders made the most of their second opportunity.
Baylor battled back to capture five matches and secure the 5-3 victory over the Blue Tornado.
Jack Morgan, Tate Sinfield-Day, Adam Lauzon, Hale Hamilton and Hank McDowell each earned match victories for Baylor to complete the comeback and give the Red Raiders another rivalry win.
The victory capped an impressive two days for Baylor Golf against its Chattanooga rivals. On Wednesday, the Baylor girls swept GPS 4-0 at Black Creek before the boys followed Thursday with their 5-3 victory over McCallie.
With Spirit Week just around the corner, Baylor Golf got the celebration started a little early with two big wins over the blue.
The Red Raiders now turn their attention to postseason play. Baylor will compete in the East Region tournament Monday at Bear Trace, with an opportunity to continue its season on the line.
