Baylor settled the score with CCS, defeating the Chargers 2-0 in the ISC Championship Game to claim its third consecutive ISC tournament championship.

Baylor's only loss of the season came against CCS in the second game of the year. Two weeks later, Baylor handed CCS its only loss of the season, setting up tonight's championship rematch between two outstanding teams.

Both pitchers were perfect through the first three complete innings before Baylor's Syd Tym reached on an error with two outs in the top of the fourth. Tym stole second but was left stranded.

Chuck Thurman led off the fifth with a hit and stole second, but Baylor was unable to push a run across.

In the top of the sixth, Ceriah Thomas and Callia Patterson drew back-to-back walks, and Pepper Dunsmore laid down a beautiful sacrifice bunt to move the runners to second and third. Syd Tym then grounded out to shortstop, driving in the first run of the game.

CCS threatened in the bottom of the sixth after having just one baserunner through the first five innings. The Chargers opened the inning with a triple, followed by an infield bunt single. With the top of the order coming to the plate, Callia Patterson struck out the first two batters and then induced a ground ball for the third out, leaving runners stranded on second and third.

In the top of the seventh, Ellie Jimerson blasted a two-out double, followed by Kennedy Gentry's RBI single up the middle to give Baylor a 2-0 lead.

That was all Patterson needed.

Callia Patterson was brilliant in the circle, delivering her most dominant performance of the season with 12 strikeouts and allowing just four baserunners over seven innings. Patterson finished the season with an incredible 105 strikeouts in 60 innings of work.
