Baylor's cross-country squads competed at Huntsville's Southern Showcase on Saturday morning and came away with top performances and now-familiar hardware.
Marshall McConville's third place finish (16:19.68) led his team to an impressive second-place trophy in the boys 5,000 Blue division (58 teams) with 112 points. Mercer Murphy (9th), Cash Carlson (21st), Lake Montgomery (24th), Harrison Stroud (59th), Carter Witt (86th), & Calen Hawk (135th) joined McConville on the podium.
In the girls Championship division, Addy Cotter and Addi Greene once again led the fast fearless females of Baylor's girls' squad. Both were recognized as elite finishers in the championship race—Cotter crossing the line in 19th place and Greene in 21st. Betsy Williams, Laney Fowler, and Kate Henry rounded out the championship squad, which finished 21st.
Baylor raced to a 7th place finish in the boys Crimson race, led by Rob Turner (20th)—and followed by Tate Harrison, Brecken McKenna, Owen McKenna, Cohen Chavda, Henry Ritter, and Charlie Dart
In the girls Blue division, Gracey Weekley, Luci Hemphill, Emily Beardsley, and Meghan Royal competed for the Red Raiders.
Next up is the Wingfoot Invitational in Cartersville, Georgia for both teams next Saturday.
