Baylor Baseball used timely hitting and a strong outing from left-hander Henry Allen to earn a 7-4 win over Rabun Gap-Nacoochee Friday night at home.
The Red Raiders struck first when Jack Schuman delivered a single that drove in two runs to give Baylor an early lead.
Baylor broke the game open in the sixth inning as five runs crossed the plate to extend the lead to 7-0. Schuman added a sacrifice fly, Kilby Hartley brought home a run with a sacrifice fly, and Allen delivered the biggest swing of the night with a three-run home run to center field.
Allen also controlled the game on the mound. The left-handed starter tossed six shutout innings, allowing five hits while striking out six and walking one. Brody Brooks came on in relief to help finish the game.
Baylor finished with 12 hits offensively. Brooks Berry led the Red Raiders at the plate going 3-for-4, while Mac Morris added two hits. Schuman finished with three RBIs, and Baylor applied pressure on the bases with four stolen bases.
Rabun Gap-Nacoochee was led by Chase Alonso and Dylan Schmidt, who each recorded two hits.
Baylor now turns its attention to its next game Tuesday against Ooltewah.
