Baylor took control early and never let go Tuesday night, earning a 6-1 victory over Ooltewah behind timely hitting and strong pitching.
Ooltewah struck first in the opening inning on a sacrifice fly to take a 1-0 lead, but Baylor answered immediately. Jack Schuman delivered a triple down the left field line in the bottom of the first, tying the game at 1-1.
Baylor grabbed the lead for good in the second inning when Mac Morris came through with a clutch double, driving in two runs to give the Red Raiders a 3-1 advantage.
On the mound, Miller Brock set the tone with four solid innings, allowing just one unearned run while striking out five. Harrison Waag and Brody Brooks combined to shut things down the rest of the way, delivering three innings of scoreless relief to secure the win.
At the plate, Morris led Baylor with three RBIs and added two stolen bases. Schuman, Emerson Morris, Knox Johnson, and Kilby Hartley each recorded a hit, while Brooks Berry worked three walks as part of a disciplined approach at the plate. Baylor drew nine walks and stole six bases, consistently applying pressure throughout the game.
Ooltewah showed patience with eight walks but managed just two hits against the Baylor pitching staff.
Baylor now turns its attention to a road matchup at Webb as the Red Raiders continue to build momentum.
