Baylor Track & Field had a great day at the Charger Relays, hosted by CCS! The women's team came away with a big win, scoring 131 points, besting runner-up CCS, who scored 112 points.
The field events group had several top performers: Ellie Higgs and Alexys Brown finished 1st and 3rd in the discus and Higgs finished runner-up in the shot put. Maddie Woods and Addy Morgan continued their winning ways, taking top honors in the long jump and triple jump. In the pole vault, Reagan Caplenor and Sienna McCreary placed second and third, and McCreary finished runner-up in the high jump.
All running events were relay format, and the Red Raider relays excelled. The distance group came to run, placing 1st in the 4x1600m, 4x800m, and Distance Medley Relay (DMR). The 4x100m and 4x200m crews placed 3rd and 5th.
The men's team finished tied for first place with CCS, with 99 points. Jayden Arenas-Michel had another big day, placing second in the shot put and third in the discus. The Raider jumpers put on a show, with Jordan Djila Tchuisseu and Ezra Sixto winning the long jump and high jump and Liam Bauer finishing runner-up in the triple jump.
In the relays, the Baylor distance men swept first place in the 4x1600m, 4x800m, and DMR. The 4x100m and Sprint Medley relays finished 3rd.
Baylor Track and Field will have a few weeks of training before hitting the track next at the MidSouth Classic on April 11.
