It was a hot day on the track at the 2026 Mid South Classic! Led by strong performances on the track and in the field, the women's team placed 2nd in a field of 17. Despite moving a few individuals to new events, the men came through with a strong 5th in the field of 16.
The women's group was led by Mid South individual champions Gracey Weekley (3200m) and Addy Cotter (800m). Scoring big team points on the women's side were Kailyn Wilson (7th, 100 hurdles), Charlotte Hoss (8th, 300 hurdles & 4th, long jump), Claire Mayberry (5th, 3200m), Sienna McCrary (6th, high jump), Addy Morgan (5th, triple jump), Ellie Higgs (2nd, discus & 6th shot put) and Alexys Brown (7th, shot put and 8th discus). The women's relays came through in the clutch as well, placing 2nd in the 4x200 and 4x800, and 5th in the 4x100 and 4x400.
The men's showcased its depth, scoring team points in nearly every event. Leading the way was Ezra Sixto with another huge leap to place second in the high jump. Other scorers were Carter Hoyle (3rd, 300 hurdles and 4th, 110 hurdles), Liam Bauer (5th, triple jump), Emery Julian (5th, shot put & 6th, discus), Jayden Arenas-Michel (6th, discus & 8th, shot put), Marshall McConville (4th, 800m), Lake Montgomery (5th, 800m), Cash Carlson (8th, 800m), AJ Bass-Mays (5th, 200m), Harrison Stroud (7th, 1600m), and George Simpson (8th, 400m).
The men also scored team points in every relay, finishing as Mid South Classic Champs in the 4x200, runners-up in the 4x800, and placing 5th in the 4x400 and 7th in the 4x100.
The Red Raiders will be back to WORK this week before splitting the squad next weekend between the Vol Classic in Knoxville and the Fast Break Invitational at CCS!
