Baylor Boys Soccer earns a strong non-region win at home, taking down Westminster (GA) 2-0.
Alberth Valcarcel led the way early, finding the back of the net in the 8th minute off an Antonio Basan assist, then adding a second in the 21st minute from a Liam Guay pass. Baylor carried that 2-0 lead into halftime and held firm the rest of the way.
Both sides created chances in the second half, but the Red Raiders' defense stood tall to secure the shutout.
Coach Blair:
"Coach Snyder does a great job of getting his guys organized, and they play hard. I thought the first 20 minutes could have been the best that we have played all year long. We did a great job with our speed of play and getting numbers into the attack. It is great to get our 6th straight shutout at home.
We are excited to host our first region match at home vs CCS on Monday at 7pm."
Standouts:
Mathew Ramirez (GK), Thomas Vance, Hunter McCoy, Noah Chawky, Correll Davis, George Coyle, Kane Parker
Baylor improves to 11-1-1 on the season.
