Baylor Soccer's season came to a close Friday afternoon at Finley Stadium, as the Red Raiders fell 1-0 to Briarcrest in the state quarterfinals.
Both teams created chances in a scoreless first half, but Briarcrest broke through in the 43rd minute on a counterattack to take a 1-0 lead.
Baylor continued to push for the equalizer and created opportunities down the stretch, but the Red Raiders could not find the back of the net.
"It is always difficult when a season comes to an end, but our guys had an unbelievable year," said Coach Curtis Blair. "We finished 14-2-3 and earned wins over some of the top teams in the Southeast. I could not be more proud of our 7 seniors and everything they accomplished this season.
"We will miss them greatly, but as I told them, soccer is what they do — not who they are. They have grown and matured so much this year, and I know they are going to do big things in college and in life. Thank you, seniors, for the leadership, commitment, and memories you gave to this program."

Thank you to everyone on and off the field for an incredible year.
