Baylor Baseball protected home field in dominant fashion Tuesday, sweeping a doubleheader over Knoxville Catholic with a blend of timely hitting, aggressive baserunning, and steady pitching.
Game one set the tone for the afternoon, as Baylor pulled out a 4–2 win behind a composed performance on the mound and clutch offense late. Trailing 2–1 in the sixth, the Red Raiders flipped the game with one swing — a bases-clearing double from Henry Allen that brought home three runs and gave Baylor the lead for good. Allen also earned the win on the mound, working six strong innings while limiting damage and keeping Knoxville Catholic off balance. Brody Brooks closed the door to secure the victory.
With momentum in hand, Baylor carried that energy straight into game two — and never let up.
The Red Raiders erupted offensively in a 14–3 run-rule win, piling up 13 hits and showcasing depth throughout the lineup. Blake Lundy led the charge with a big day at the plate, driving in four runs, including a two-run homer in the fifth. Baylor wasted no time applying pressure, jumping out early and forcing Knoxville Catholic to play from behind all game.
Patience at the plate was a key factor, as Baylor drew nine walks and consistently created traffic on the bases. Once on, the Red Raiders were relentless — swiping 11 bases and turning singles into scoring opportunities with aggressive baserunning.
On the mound, Wells Grisham picked up the win in game two, while Brody Hudson provided effective relief to keep Knoxville Catholic quiet. Defensively, Baylor was sharp across both games, playing clean baseball without committing an error.
The sweep highlights a complete performance from the Red Raiders — pitching, defense, and an offense that continues to find rhythm at the right time.
Baylor now turns its attention to the road, traveling to Farragut on April 23 to take on Bearden.
