Baylor varsity volleyball opened its 2026 season in impressive fashion Tuesday night, earning a straight-set road victory over Soddy-Daisy.
The Red Raiders won 25-19, 25-15 and 25-19 to begin the new campaign 1-0.
Baylor received contributions throughout the lineup in the season opener. Taylor Warren led the way with 12 kills and added 12 assists and a block. Molly Billington finished with 10 kills, two aces and three digs, while Gabby Minton recorded nine kills and a block.
Kenzie Johnson added eight kills and a dig, while Leah Gordon finished with four kills.
Baylor also had a balanced night setting the attack. Milyn Hold handed out a team-high 31 assists while adding a kill, an ace and three digs. Warren contributed 12 assists to go along with her team-high 12 kills.
Defensively, Rory Oleksik led Baylor with 14 digs and also delivered four aces and an assist. Brenna Bagley added seven digs, while Nina Lail recorded six digs and an ace.
Scarlett Kelley finished with two aces and three digs, and Calista Stafford added two aces and two digs.
It was a strong all-around start for Baylor, which now turns its attention to its home opener.
The Red Raiders return to action Thursday when they host Brentwood Academy at 4:30 p.m. Fans heading to Baylor's football home opener later that evening can start the afternoon in the gym and cheer on the volleyball team before making their way to Heywood Stadium.
