The Baylor Track and Field Team kicked off the 2026 season with convincing dual-meet wins over Signal Mountain High School. The Red Raiders showcased balanced scoring and depth, with the men winning their dual 98-49 and the women winning 89-56.
Despite windy conditions, many Red Raiders put up personal best marks and individual event wins.
On the women's side, sprinter Hadley Griffith came away with decisive wins in the 100m and 200m. The distance group got strong showings from Maddie Hawk and Ruby Dozier, who took first and second in the 800m in personal-best times, and Gracey Weekley, who ran away with the 1600m in a personal best. The Baylor women's relays came away with wins in the 4x100m, 4x400m, and 4x800m. On the field, Baylor swept the high jump (Charlotte Hoss, Sienna McCrary, and Ivy Jones) and long jump (Charlotte Hoss, Maddie Woods, and Owlsley Best), and Ellie Higgs came away a win in the discus and led a Baylor sweep in the shot put along with Alexys Brown and Rhett Maybank.
On the men's side, Baylor sprinters and hurdlers started the meet off strong with a sweep on the 100m (AJ Bass Mays, Jordan Djila Tchuisseu, and Kaiden Dewey) and decisive victories in the 110m Hurdles and 300m Hurdles (Cater Hoyle). Red Raider distance runners swept the top three spots in the 800m (Cash Carlson, George Simpson, and Cohen Chavda), and secured victories in the 1600m (Harrison Stroud) and 3200m (Lake Montgomery). Red Railer relays picked up wins in the 4x100m and 4x800m. In the field events, Baylor jumpers swept the long jump (Jordan Djila Thchuisseu, Lucas Maonis, and Harris Stinson) and triple jump (Liam Bauer, Ezra Sixto, and Lucas Maonis). The high jump was the "Sixto Show", with brothers Ezra and Levi taking the top two spots. Baylor throwers Jayden Arenas-Michel and Emery Julien took home the top two spots in the both the shot put (Julien, Arenas-Michel), and discus (Arenas-Michel, Julien).
The Red Raiders Track and Field Team will be back in action, at home against CCS, on Tuesday, 3/17!
