Baylor Girls Soccer got back in the win column in impressive fashion Thursday night, earning a 4-1 region victory over Knoxville Catholic on the road.

The Red Raiders wasted little time taking control, scoring twice in a two-minute span.

In the 14th minute, Adri Carey opened the scoring off a pass from Reese Rowlett to give Baylor a 1-0 advantage. Just one minute later, Maddie Hawk connected off a cross from Abby Lewis to double the lead.

Baylor continued to apply pressure, and in the 30th minute Helena Lima found the back of the net off a pass from Harley Elam, sending the Red Raiders into halftime with a commanding 3-0 lead.

The scoring continued early in the second half. In the 45th minute, Lewis finished off a Brylee Faulkner corner to push Baylor's advantage to 4-0.

Knoxville Catholic broke through in the 63rd minute with a long-range strike, but Baylor's defense shut the door from there to secure the 4-1 region victory.

"I was really proud of our courage to try to play tonight," Baylor head coach Curtis Blair said. "I thought we kept getting better as the game went along."

Ella Metzner was strong in goal for the Red Raiders, while Charlotte Hoss, Grace King and Charlotte Hayen were also among Baylor's standouts.

With the victory, Baylor improves to 8-3-1 overall and 3-1 in region play. Next up GPS on 9/30
